Dean’s children and grandchildren farm the 160 acres now. They use modern equipment, a 2018 John Deere actually bought with cash from 3 years of savings. But they also keep the Farmall in the barn, maintained and ready, a reminder of where they came from.

The family drinks, and somewhere out in the barn, the 1952 Farmall Super M sits waiting, 70 years old, still ready to work.

“A museum piece,” Dean once called it. He was wrong about that too. It is not a museum piece. It is a monument to patience, to wisdom, to the quiet strength of people who know that enough is enough.
